Preorders for Project Core Yu Yu Hakusho Goods Open
Project Core has announced they’ve opened pre-orders for some new Yu Yu Hakusho merchandise! Slated for a release around mid-February 2019, you too can order some shirts or a nice new bag!
Project Core takes Amazon Pay and there’s free shipping for every purchase of 3000 yen or more. If you also register as a member on their website, you can get a 7% discount.
Jump Festa 2019 Merchandise from Chugai Mining (Chugai Contents)
The Chugai Mining Twitter just posted their JF 2019 lineup! Looks like we’re getting some mini hanging illustrations, badges, two different sets of acrylic stands, rubber straps, and some adorable wooden charms. If you spend ¥3,000 at their booth on Yu Yu merch you’ll get a free shopping bag with all of the full body illustrations and some lovely flowers on it.
OK, the little designs where the characters are holding wagasa (for some reason there is no Yomi, which I don’t care but since the other kings are there… does this mean Mukuro and Raizen sell better? lol) are cute, but I wanted to point out…
The masks.
Kurama(s) has a fox, Hiei has a dragon, no surprises there.
Kuwabara has a tengu – Shinto deity or yokai with big nose and wings. There are different versions but generally now they’re thought of as wise protective mountain ascetics.
Koenma’s looks like a general aka oni (red ogre) mask. Like his employees lol.
Mukuro’s is clearly a woman’s mask, but it looks like Okame/Otafuku. This is a merry woman who brings laughter and good fortune and I associate it with Kyogen (comedic plays). A choice with many interesting connotations if you, like me, think too much about everything haha
Raizen’s appears to be a lion dog (shisa/komainu). They’re guardians. I thought this was really cute lol
And the one that made me pause while clicking and then look carefully at the other masks was Yusuke’s. It’s HANNYA lol. I’m going to assume this is because the design is so recognizable, and people can easily identify it as “a demon”. For those who don’t know, Hannya in Noh plays actually represents a woman who has turned into a demon because of extreme jealousy.
Pre-orders are open on the A3 Online Shop for the new GraffArt line of YYH goods. All items are set for a December 2018 release. General order links will be posted if they appear.
Hiruseki necklaces, earrings, and keychains available for purchase! The funds from these help me buy doujinshi, so it’s a great way to support the blog and its mission 🙂
On Saturday, October 20th, GraffArts has opened advanced orders for Yu Yu Hakusho goods! Featuring an adorable, sketchy style, you can find these goods in the Ikebukuro P’Parco store, as well as other A3Market stores like their Ikebukuro, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Sendai locations. GraffArts also has an online store (I am not sure if you can order from there internationally but you can try your luck) which the goods will probably be as well: http://graffart.athree3.com.
